Overview
Hi there, I'm Jay. I'm twenty-two years old and love animation, crafts and video games. I also usually keep to myself. I don't have a lot of confidence in myself to be truly honest, but I am very envious of voice actors, love animation and would love to try for becoming the voice behind a character. I enjoy toying around with the tones in my voice but often get embarrassed when others hear me. I'd like to break out of that. I'd love to be a voice actor (even for the smallest projects) and help bring a character(s) to life. Whether it be one or a few characters, I'd enjoy the process. I graduated from a performing arts high school, and had been a drama major for four years. I enjoyed acting. It made me feel alive and expressive, even when I was feeling more down than usual and the most shy. I've always been someone who tries to place myself in the shoes of others..seeing things from their perspectives to better understand a situation or even a way of living. Even when it comes to fictional characters. Being seen in different ways and adjusting to lives that are anything but...well, your own. I love the idea of expressing that and finding ways to improve on making the character a creator is looking for. I've performed on stage a few times in school, but never cared to be in front of cameras or have my face shown. I'm not too comfortable with it, honestly. I never have been. Which is one of the reasons as to why the idea of voice acting appeals to me so much. Thus, bringing myself here. To give it a go and see if voice acting is truly for me. (Even if it weren't, I'd still have much appreciation and enjoyment towards voice actors everywhere.)
Additionally, I don't have money for or an appropriate microphone to use, nor do I have the money for a voice coach. For my demos, I've only used what I could. I still hope to get honest feedback on my demos and hear others opinions on what I could improve. It's my dream to become a voice actor and become part of someone's creation, and I plan on doing everything I can to see if I've got the talent for it.
