My career as a voice artist, theatre actor, academic and teacher has spanned the last 35 years.
These different aspects of my career have informed each other. As a Doctor of Philosophy, the depth of my analytic and linguistic skills allows me to clearly communicate complicated philosophical, theoretical and literary expositions in my audiobook narrations. My theatre work has given me the vocal skills to offer precise and nuanced expression of both comedic and serious fiction. My technical knowledge and ease of pronunciation means I can handle the most complex practical, historical, biographic and theoretical non-fiction. As an undergraduate, I majored in Chinese politics and have a depth of understanding of modern Chinese history, culture and politics. I can easily and accurately handle the pronunciation of Chinese (Mandarin) place names and character names, with a good knowledge of Mandarin, as well as French, (I am a French resident) and most regional UK accents.
