Hello and welcome back today. We'll be looking at Chapter five supporting details. This is the other piece to the structure puzzle as we deal with what else the paragraph has to offer. If you haven't yet, make sure you take care of your warmth activity. Here we go. To build a little momentum. Here's a quick review. The topic is what the paragraph is about a word name or phrase that labels the content of the paragraph. The main idea is what is claimed about the topic. It is a complete sentence and is not a question. The supporting details are focused for the day. Are the evidence examples, statistics or explanation the author provides for the main idea. The supporting details are the reasons the author thinks you should agree with their main idea.
