fly by the seat of your pants By Amy Fisher Jessica flew by the seat of her pants. It wasn't a special affair. She just put them on one day in a room and was suddenly gliding through air. The pants they were knew she'd bought them last week at the flea market over on Main, then up in the air for an hour or two, and she'd landed in beautiful Spain. From there, the pants took her to many a place with sites she had never beheld. Some moments were funny, some sad, some happy. Some scared her so bad that she yelled. She saw many people in places and things, and many would ask, Why don't you have wings? And Jesse would point to her heinie and say, I fly by the seat of my pants every day.
