Hey! Hi. What's going on? Welcome to you, brat babes. Throughout. We'll talk Tuesday's podcast. I am your host and Lisa Edwards, and I'm so happy that you are here. I am so stoked that I finally made the plunge to create a podcast for you. I have had many comments and messages asking when I would turn my instagram live TVs into a podcast. And here it is. If you're new to throttle talks, it's something that we have been doing since July of 2020. We've been interviewing influential women who are making an impact for other women in the snowmobile end dirt bike community. Thes chats are where women open up. They discuss their struggles, pains, challenges and also winds, accomplishments and rewards. Brat babies start to talk Tuesday is a place in space for women who's snowmobile and dirt bike can come to and listen in on news within our sports. The products that work wanders for us women when it comes to snowmobiling, and they're begging, and we have some amazing interviews from influential women athletes who are making a huge impact on other women in the snowmobile and thereby community. Okay, why did I start throttle talk. Tuesday's e Get this question. Ah, lot. Um, let's start this. When I was a young buck, a prairie girl from Saskatchewan, I lived and breathed snowboarding. It was my life. It was my style. And it was my identity at the time, and I was consistently searching for women to ride with. I was always doing research on the newest products what was coming out for women who was designing these products for women. And also I was looking for articles and interviews about the biggest names that influenced me. Um, you know, these names are these women that were in the snowboarding industry was Terry Ticketus, Jeremiah and Victoria, Jealous, Jealous, Tina Passage, Hana Beaman, Land Pelosi round Robin Van Gyn, Jessica Mira and the list goes on and on. Those women had a huge impact on me when it came to my snowboarding, and that's something I grew up always researching, always looking for those articles reading up on the train that they're arriving the tricks that they were nailing. Okay, so let's fast forward to when I moved to the Squamish BC, I'm a bit older, went to school and I knew that I wanted to be in the mountains. I read up about Whistler and it was always a goal for me, myself and my family to be close to Whistler. I tried mountains leading for the first time to gain access to all of these areas that I read about in, you know, uh, Snowboard Canada magazine from the pros, like the ones I just listed on. Guy was on Cloud nine, But shortly after my first couple trips in the back country, I realized that I needed to learn how to control this beast of a sled in order to access some gnarly train. And lo and behold, I started to leave my snowboard at home, and that is how my snow bailing career started. A zai dove into this new sport. I realized that it was extremely hard and rare to find information on snowmobile setups products. And honestly, there was little to none interviews on some of the big names that I immediately fell in love with. So let's fast forward Thio Now I started Brat Babes in 2018 and theme or I dove into my business. The more I realized that there wasn't a whole lot of, um, product reviews for women. There is not a lot of write ups on, you know, Snow mobile setups, um, dirt bike setups and little to none interviews on influential women that we're making an impact for me. When it came to snowmobiling, I wanted to know more about their stories. I wanted to know about their failures. I wanted to know about their winds. I basically wanted Thio know it all, so I could be at all. If that makes sense, I am very heavily influenced when it comes Thio. What looking up to these professional riders? And I just love to know what makes women athletes tick. It's just it's always been a thing for me. Um, again, I love Thio, no theme ins and outs when it comes to women athletes, because I think it's important that we understand their story and how how much they pushed themselves in the sport. So when I started mountains leading, of course, what I started to do was started to research. I researched who to take lessons from you know where to take clinics. I started to research who was the most badass babe out there, killing it on their sled. I wanted to know what products they were using in the back country. I wanted to know what they did to their snowmobiles. Uh, and then I quickly realized that there wasn't a whole lot of information or a place to go Thio to discover all of these amazing products. There was not a whole lot of discussions, and if they were, there was little bits of information, you know, here and there all over the Internet. But just I wanted a place where I could go to kind of like how Snowboard Canada Magazine. They created these magazines, especially for the women's annual magazine. It was a place for all of us to go to, to read up about the new products that were coming out for that winter season. Um, you know, again, articles, all that stuff. So basically, that's why I started through. I'll talk Tuesdays and also our new brought Babes magazine because I wanted a place where women can come to where women can listen in on interviews from these women athletes that are absolutely killing it. They can learn a little bit more about their stories, learn more about their heroes. This is a place in space where I want women to always come back. Thio listen over and over again to read more and more. For me. It's not just the cool shots that you see on these little screens on our social media platforms. No, I am inspired by all of these women who absolutely kill it on their sleds and bikes. I love seeing them progress, and I love seeing them fail, and I know that sounds bad, but think about it. I want to see how many times that particular woman athlete failed in orderto land. That trick, How many times did she fall? What sacrifices did she make to commit? What were her exact thought, struggles and challenges? When it when it comes to doing what she does, what does she dio off Mountain? What does she do off trails? What does she eat? What does she you know? Like I want to know how much dedication and motivation they have, because when I hear about that, it makes me appreciate that athlete more so. All in all, welcome to throttle top. Tuesday's This is where we get to chat with women athletes such a steffy Schwartz Jesse Puasa, Kelsey Fe, Gabrielle Hockley, Crystal Leveque, Nadine Over Water, Steph, Sweezy and so many more Bad as women. The list goes on and on the's chats air really authentic and raw. These women open up and share a piece of their story, and we know you'll leave these podcasts feeling inspired and ready to Rod. So thank you so much for being here. Thank you so much for subscribing to our podcast. And again I am Anja Lisa Edwards. And I'm going to leave you here today to remind you that you are one badass babe who kills it, who strives and thrives and keep pushing it and remember to have fun and stay safe in the back country, and we will catch you on the next episode.
