The Dreary streets of where I came from were no home for a teenager, but from the age of 13 that's exactly what they were. For me. My adolescence wasn't the all American dream that you see on TV. It wasn't guarded by a white picket fence in the leafy suburbs. There was no beautiful lapdog, no parents beaming with pride. My teenage years where the all american dream flipped upside down, but then someone came along and changed everything.
