Well, tell me about it. There isn't much to tell. I started. I saw him clear as day. And then he was just gone. Did you see him here? I nodded at that table. I pointed to an empty table behind her and And when I tried to tell you once I turned back, he was gone. I tried following him outside, but it was like he just vanished. That doesn't make sense. She said Why now? Why are you seeing him now? When you hadn't before, I wish I knew. In a town this size I can't imagine him being able to hide. Really? She mused. We know almost everyone in Cocos. There is one more thing. I also need to tell you. Remember that dream I had a few days ago? She nodded. Mm. It happened. They always do. Well. She pressed raising her eyebrows at me. I saved a boy from some jerk with a knife. A knife? I warned. Yes, but don't worry. I threatened to call the cops and he took off. She landed a long exhale. Wow, That's not all. This boy. He decided not only to tell me his name, but mentioned he knew mine. Wait, What? I shook my head trying to find the right words. You shouldn't talk about this here. She nodded. Come on. We can talk in the car. I followed her out to the parking lot and climbed into her familiar car again, trying to ignore the dice hanging on the mirror. Okay. She exhaled slowly. He called me after I was turning to leave, telling me he knew my name. Just furrowed her brow, looking as if she was desperately searching for something to say. He saw me in a dream. Remembered her eyes suddenly grew wide. Whoa! What? She yelled. What kind of dream? This is so weird. What are the odds of someone else here having premonitions? I know things started to get extremely weird. I know. We have to find the one who pulled me from my car. He must be behind this. That's not so easy when he keeps disappearing. Yeah, they murmured. Tell me about it. Are you sure you're safe? She asked. I mean, if he saw you in a dream, that could mean I know I interrupted. But nothing has happened yet, so maybe his dreams are different. She nodded Let's hope so. I found myself at the medicine cabinet for the third time, downing a dose of cough syrup before finally feeling tired enough to sleep. I clicked off the bathroom light and crawled back into bed beneath the blankets, I side closing my eyes, hoping I wouldn't be disturbed by another dream. I opened my eyes again, realizing I must have been dreaming when I saw bright yellow strands of hair billowing around my face. The sky was blue, with streaks of red and purple clouds reaching across the horizon like ribbons. I recognized the long stretch of road in front of me and the wilting flowers near the edge where I had crashed. A sick feeling grew in the pit of my stomach, and I prayed there wouldn't be another flashback. Daisy. I whirled around at the sound of my name, almost crying out. It's okay, he said. It's me. I stared for what felt like hours at the perfection of those familiar hazel eyes, eyes that had haunted my dreams. Who are you? You know who I am. His light brown hair shone almost golden in the fading daylight. You saved me. Why
