Voice Over Testimonials

It is with pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for a former colleague and superior of mine, Dr. David A. Holness. Dr. Holness was Division Chair of Business Management and Marketing when I was Department Chair of English at Northwood University. For the substantial time that I knew him, Dr. Holness consistently exhibited the best traits of an academic: integrity of character, excellence in teaching, timely execution of duties, concern for student’s welfare, and an enthusiastic and infectious passion for any novel technology that would advance learning environments, both virtually and on-ground.
Being an entrepreneurial businessman prior to entering higher education, Dr. Holness quickly became adept at both the administrative and scholarly aspects of academia. He excels especially in innovative processes and operational models for the enhancement of university environments. Dr. Holness and myself together worked on a high-technology model for the seamless integration of classroom instruction and accelerated grading, via the use of PC tablets.
In closing, it is difficult to say whether the administrative or scholastic skills of Dr. Holness are his best feature, as both are of the highest calibre. I have observed on many occasions Dr. Holness’s teaching and private tutoring of students, and both were of an exemplary nature.
Due to all of the above, it has been my honour to have worked with such a professional colleague, and to still do so via collegial collaboration on academic papers and presentations. Consequently, I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Dr. Holness for any academic post for which he might apply.
Please feel free to contact me at the below particulars if I may be of any further assistance.
Yours sincerely,
Denise Douglas-Brown (Dr.)

I have known Dr. Holness since 2003 when he joined the faculty at American InterContinental University (AIU) in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a hard and conscientious worker and has made significant contributions in the academic and business communities. Dr. Holness’ professional experiences spans over the past twenty years. During this time he held executive positions at major corporations including Xerox and IBM. He was also the President and CEO for his computer and consulting company, and his areas of specialization are business management, marketing and sales, operations and logistics.
Over the span of his career, Dr. Holness received professional awards in the areas of marketing and sales productivity. After completing his dissertation on the illegal sale and distribution of pharmaceutical drugs, he submitted a U.S. Patent for an automated manufacturing system that would produce printed components such as labels, package inserts and other similar items so pharmaceutical wholesaling companies could track the distribution of their drugs after they enter the market. In 2007, he presented a paper on this subject matter at the American Society of Criminology in Atlanta, Georgia.
While at AIU, Dr. Holness served as the Dean of the Business School. He taught business classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels and used his professional and entrepreneurial skills to teach students how to conduct market research, create market plans and how to sell products and services. He had an excellent relationship with students and earned the reputation of being one of the university’s most valuable educators. After graduation, several of his students developed and established their own companies, actualizing the goals and business plans he taught them in the classroom. In essence, Dr. Holness’ dedication to educating and preparing students for careers in the business community is one of his strongest assets. For these reasons, I hope he is given an opportunity to be considered for employment with your institution.
