Good afternoon. I'm Isabella Marquez in today's Friday, October 11th, 2019. Here's your podcast newscast. Former U S ambassador to Ukraine Marie Jovanovich is testifying in front of three House committees in a closed door deposition. She is considered a key witness to the Democratic impeachment of President Trump. Following the whistleblower complaints. Yeah. Evanovich, who was released from her ambassador position in May 2019, told Congress that the State Department told her she did nothing wrong, but President Trump had been pressuring them to let her go since summer 2018. However, speculation surrounds Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani's role. In her release, Giuliani accused her of prioritizing Joe Biden's interest over Trump's and protecting Hunter Biden. She denies these allegations. Her ousting is cited in the whistleblower complaint, bringing to question whether President Trump abused his powers to interfere in the election by digging up information about Vice President Biden and his son Hunter. Investigations will attempt to figure out the truth about your Bondevik's removal and the information she has about Trump's relationship with Ukraine. Today marks the third day of Turkish airstrikes in Syria. The Turkish defense minister said that 342 terrorists who he defines as Syrian Kurdish militia men have been killed. Nations all over the world are denouncing Turkey's attacks on Syria, Italy, Britain, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Russia and others have all released statements condemning the airstrikes. California is facing another devastating forest fire. The saddle fire is roaring at about 800 acres an hour through the San Fernando Valley. More than 100,000 people have been evacuated from the area and their homes. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Today is the 31st anniversary of national coming out day. People are celebrating across the country with rallies to show their pride and support. I'm Isabella Marquez with your hourly newscast on POTUS Channel 1 24.
