Well the corn markets lower tone today has allowed both the live cattle and the feeder cattle contracts to trade a little bit higher in some markets. But the hog market is not seeing the same support live cattle complexes seem to find some technical support around the markets. 40 day moving average mark and is successfully trading higher, helping matters also that corn price trading lower, which takes a little bit of pressure off the market as well. Given that hackers were able to buy some cattle with time last week, feedlots are going to have an uphill battle this week in getting cattle sold for more money than we saw last week. It's also likely we'll see prices either steady with last week's weighted average or slightly lower. Your february. Live cattle closed down 20 cents at 1 56 80 april up 12 cents at 1 60 22 in june. Also up seven cents at 1 56 87 corn prices now trading lower feeder cattle complexes, posting a mild rally as the market looks to redeem itself after yesterday's sharp clothes. If corn prices continue to trade lower throughout the rest of the day and at the live cattle complex keeps with its higher trend, then the feeder cattle market will likely be able to go throughout the week with these stronger tones as well as demand for both feeders and calves remaining strong throughout the sale barn. Your january feeder cattle closed down 15 cents at 1 79 50 March up 42 cents at 1 81 72 april also up 42 cents at 1 86 30 after gapping higher. Yesterday, lean hog complexes back to trading lower. If prices are going to be cheap, then producers are praying that the packers liquid inventory, so hopefully in the future when demand perks up, packers will again have to support the cash sector, february lean hogs down a dollar 10 at 77 35 april. Hogs down a dollar 60 at 86 47 june hogs down $2.07 at 103 30. We trade 2 to 5 cents lower with Kansas city action continuing to lead soybeans 11 to 12 cents lower and your corn trade 1 to 2 cents lower. That's a wrap of your afternoon agricultural news and markets. I'm Casey Sheppard on the Radio Oklahoma Ag Network.
