Music Composition

Chris Jones is a musician, composer and sound designer for television and film based in the Hamptons. Classically trained in contrabass and percussion, he also plays electric fretless bass and Chapman Stick.

He has performed at venues as varied as The Knitting Factory, Tilles Center, PS1 MoMA, The Waldorf-Astoria, Kaufman Music Center, CBGB’s, The Roxy (LA), Coney Island’s Luna Park. He has recorded three improvisational albums with Attention Screen for Stereophile Recordings.

Composing for film and television, his credits range from “American Idol”, “Saturday Night Live”, “The Sopranos”, ads for McDonald's, Adidas, and Mercedes-Benz, Contemporary Arts Center (New Orleans), Vera Wang, and Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight."

Jones studied percussion with Frank Cassara (Steve Reich and Musicians, Philip Glass Ensemble) at Long Island University Post (LIU) where he minored in film, followed graduating from Berklee College of Music's prestigious Film Scoring program.
