About Mark Mullaney

Vocal quality: youthful, animated, intimate, and stoic.

Narration: Smooth but still engaging, and as natural as possible.

Dialogue in a book: I focus on the emotion of the character speaking the line, and make a point to differentiate it from the narration by sounding more animated and passionate.

Dialogue in an animated project: Depending on the character it could be fun, peppy, and sarcastic, or shy, timid, and dry.

Commercial & Industrial: Honest, intelligent, and exciting.

I've worked on several audiobooks of varying genres, one of which had over 40 characters, ranging from children to seniors of both genders.

In musical terms I have a bari/tenor range.

Service Overview

Voice Over

The majority of the time I'll edit the clips myself partly to make sure nothing is lost in translation (such as natural/intended spacing between sentences), and partly to speed up the process. By editing the clips myself it cuts out the studio time and any backlog their engineers may already have.

If the project happens to be very large (such as an audiobook) I'll sometimes hire a sound engineer to help edit.

Voice Over Testimonials

Mark has fantastic range - so impressed with all the characters he portrayed in the book! I love all the emotion he put into Ronaneyr and his soul pain! Love, love, love. Some people believe children's books can't carry the depth of emotion of adult books, but I've never believed that, and I know children appreciate it when you give them the truth… including the emotional highs and lows of the full range of human expression. I love that he carried this so well into the audio.

Susan Kaye Quinn, author of Faery Swap (audiobook)

PERFECT! I love the inflections he used and the emotion expressed! Mark...YOU ROCK!

Casey Holloway, author of Get'n Hammered (audiobook)
