Known for coining the term native rap Rex Smallboy is a rapper entrepreneur who made his mark in indigenous hip-hop from his groundbreaking work as an artist, producer and manager for War Party. (era 1995 – 2005) Their music video Feelin’ Reserved made history as the first native rap music video to air nationally on Much Music and Rap City. War Party also won the very first Canadian Aboriginal Music Award for Best Rap or Hip-hop Album in 2001.
