Hello and welcome to Sandy's positive podcast. In today's stressful world, it's often very hard to stay positive. I hope this brief message will help you this week's message. Improving your relationships. I saw one of my favorite authors, John Maxwell, on TV the other day, and he was talking about how we can improve our relationships. So I thought I'd share a little bit with you, something kind of cool that he recommends now. I'm not just talking about, ah relationship you may have with a spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, a member of the opposite sex. I'm also talking about those important relationships you have with family members, coworkers and other friends. He calls it the 32nd role, and that is when you greet someone within 30 seconds. Think of something nice, maybe a compliment that you can give them. He does trust that this needs to be a genuine compliment, otherwise just kind of schmoozing, and that can come off. It's very empty and fake, so let me give you a couple of examples. Let's say you are meeting a friend for lunch and she's wearing a new dress. Looks awesome. Make sure you tell her. Let's say you see somebody at the coffee pot at work, Somebody who you were in a meeting with the day before and they came up with a great idea. Well acknowledged that, Hey, great idea in the meeting yesterday. The idea is to make the person feel good about themselves because, hey, first of all, they might be having a bad day. They might really need to pick me up. And also, when you do acknowledge the positive things in another person, instead of maybe stressing the negative things, it will improve your relationship. It's certainly something that's worth a try, and what I figure is, if you can't come up with something within 30 seconds, just give a big smile. That's nice to let me know how you do and let me know if you have any ideas. Just write me a Kovac A W v m v dot com. Thanks for listening to Sandy's positive podcast until next time we'll keep it positive
