10 years ago, hundreds of phases of you joined voices with friends of the Earth MPs, business owners and activists from around the country to make history, demanding the government take real action to stop catastrophic climate change. The biggest campaign demanded a Climate change act, the world's first national legislation to limit carbon emissions. It committed the UK government to cut greenhouse gases by at least 80% by 2050. The Climate Change Act was an immense achievement, but we haven't stopped there. Over the past 10 years, we've been doing everything we can to hold the government to its promises and drive even bigger commitments to stopping climate change and building a better future. But the truth is our government is not doing enough. Today. We're not even on track to meet targets set out in the Climate Change Act, let alone doing what it will take to stop runaway climate change. Government is relentlessly pursuing fracking, pouring money into parts. They're slashing support for renewable energy and they doing far too little to protect nature or modernise our food and farming industry. The's a costly decisions that are odds with stopping climate change and the window for actions. Friends of the Earth. We refuse to let this slide on. We're bringing all our experience and expertise to call these terrible decisions and fight back against climate damaging policies to create rial sustainable change. And we're winning of rain, the country. And in Westminster you were the key to securing the climate change act on people like you and the key to all of thes over victories. Together we can stop runaway climate change. Please join us and make history all over again.
