routine. A story written and narrated by Duncan lint. I really need a car. Is the thought on the front of Emily's mind for the fourth time this week while waiting for the 715 bus, she's wanted to get a car for some time now but hasn't been able to save enough money to buy one. Emily has grown tired of sitting at the same bus stop waiting to board the same bus with the same middle aged man who says the same thing each day. How you doing, ma'am? She knows he's just trying to be polite, but at the same time she just wants to read her books without interruption. She typically respond with something along the lines of good. How are you or fine and you. Then he'll reply with some story about his son's baseball game or how his wife made him pancakes that morning. If she had a car, she just drive to work without any of that nonsense. But today she could tell something was different. After the man sat down next to her and shook off his umbrella, he said nothing. After a minute of silence, she closed her book and asked him how he's doing. As he began to tell Emily about his wife's cancer diagnosis. She quickly forgot about wanting a car altogether.
