Ronnie and Reggie Kray have graduated from figures of urban folklore to become, as the title of the new Tom Hardy bio pic attests fully fledged legends. Years of exaggeration, of fabrication have elevated the twins above the status of common criminals, with the passing of time adding a touch of nostalgic glamour to the misdeeds and exploits of these gangland figures. And whilst these tall tales field almost mythical reputation of the Krays, many still consider their dramatic 1968 arrest at the hands of Inspector Leonard Nipper read to be the end of the Storey.
