88 1 half miles, is a family comedy about 13 year old Elliott, whose holiday plans are ruined when he is sent to spend his summer break living with his 88 a half year old Grandma Jo in the humdrum town of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, with no friends or Internet connection at Grandma Jo's Elliot Miserably resigns to two whole months spent watching black and white movies on TCM, one of the few TV channels his grandma receives and being lectured about how lazy and spoiled kids are these days. The only thing that Elliot and Grandma Jo can bond over is their shared adoration for the classic film star Marion Cavendish, whose movies they begin to tune into nightly.
