Okay. In 1977, NASA launched two unmanned probes, Voyager one and Voyager two into space in an effort to explore the neighboring planets of our solar system, Voyager. Once primary objective was to pass by jupiter and Saturn. While Voyager two was to fly by Uranus and Neptune and transmit data back to earth. Thanks to the Voyager probes observations, humanity was for the first time ever able to very clearly see what the surfaces of planets like jupiter and Saturn looked like. In 2012, Voyager one crossed our solar system's helio, pause, making the probe, the first human made object in interstellar space To this day. Both probes are still flying through space at over 30,000 mph and transmitting useful data back to Earth. Earlier this year, physicists examining the reading sent from Voyager one made an exciting discovery, a faint hum, according to Stella coke walker, a Cornell University PhD student. The hum appears to be caused by interstellar plasma. This interstellar plasma had previously been encountered in massive storms of large plasma oscillation events, indicating the probe experienced a great deal of turbulence, which could have been caused by huge far away sources such as interstellar winds or supernovae. The hum, however, which is so quiet, it barely registers on Voyager's plasma wave system is curious in how consistent it is. Co cocker describes a week persistent signal of plasma waves that appears to not be related to solar activity, spurring physicists to discover just what exactly is causing this mysterious buzz of plasma that appeared out of nowhere to learn more about the Voyager probes and this interstellar hum head on over to space tv dot net.
