Wayne honed his public speaking whilst at High School taking GCSE Drama and being the School DJ. From 1993 to 95 he moved to radio, taking on the Presenter & Film Critic roles on YFM, a Community Radio Station in Cheshire.

In 1999/2000, Wayne returned to Community Radio for 2 broadcasts under Witch FM. Once again, he could multitask driving such shows as the fast-moving Saturday Sports. Wayne also hosted his own Saturday Night Dance show, Merge @ Witch FM which showcased the best in local DJ & Musical talent and mixes from 2 resident DJs.

Between 2003 & 2010, Wayne turned his hand to promoting Stand-Up comedy. He co-created Ribbed Comedy, a series of Comedy Nights held across Northern England & the Midlands. Ribbed also supporting the Wychwood Festival between 2006 & 2008. Under the banner 'LOL! Manchester', Wayne created an online guide to comedy in Manchester. He took live comedy to Manchester Museum & curated a third of the 2010s Manchester Comedy Festival across 3 venues.
