Is an Acer netbook mic good enough for recording an amateur demo/audition?

So I have an Acer Aspire netbook, and I'm looking to record a demo/audition for an amateur Youtube voiceover series. Does anyone know if the mic is good enough for recording? I do have Audacity and can edit the pitch, but I'd like to know if anyone else has used it for recording. Thanks. :)

Without knowing the specifics of this microphone, I would advise against it. Laptop microphones are not designed to be specific or professional recording instruments and will most likely not generate a good result for you.

I have an Acer netbook, and it's gonna sound bad just with the mic on the computer. Really bad.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Audio Technica AT2020 mic and the MicPort Pro. You can get them both at Amazon.com for around $220 right now, or search for a better price at other retailers.
You'll likely need to deal with unwanted room resonance with some kind of sound absorption. A home-made portabooth is a low cost option. Or a closet, if you have one that will serve. And a mic stand, little or bigger depending on your sound absorption choice.

I just now heard that the AT2020 is not compatible with the MicPort Pro. My bad!
