When will voices.com start randomizing the order that clients recieve demos
+2
votes
To stop the people who are using bot software to get first posts.
As soon as a job posts there are already offers mere seconds after.
I suggest that smart people have software automatically posting demos as soon as it hits there inbox. This isn't fair to anyone else
to combat this i suggest that the order that clients receive there demos should be random and or have a hold waiting period.

The tech support staff could clarify the fine points, but, even if people have some sort of posting software or are firing off generic demos quickly, it isn't really a very good idea. If you've gotten a number of postings, you will notice that most of them REQUIRE a custom demo (often with language like, "no generic demos will be considered). So if you are just zinging off a generic demo to every post, you will be eliminated from many of the jobs you were spamming for not following their request. Something to keep in mind - many posters on this site post repeatedly. If you are flagged by them as someone who just sends any old demo to a post, you'll be dumped like so much junk mail. If you're saying that jobs are actually filled seconds after being posted, then the poster was in a HELL of a hurry and took anyone who didn't suck (ie, first one in). Most posters are a little more discerning than that, so you don't have to worry about responding within SECONDS for most jobs. Being within the first 50 would be good. But the way these sites work, it's first come, first served as far as submissions go. Get on the computer first thing and start submitting. The one randomizer they do have here is your percent match score. If your profile matches the requirements of the job posting at (I think it's 85%) or above, your audition moves up in the queue. But to get a decent voice-match score, you need to have searchable (and matchable) information on your profile and demos. I noticed that your profile doesn't have a lot of description (ie: key words that would come up in a search) and no demos. The number of leads you get and the matches you get will rise with the amount of information you add and the inclusion of relevant demos. The customer service on this site is GREAT and they can help you optimize your profile so that you're getting more leads. Being early is good, being first isn't as important. The key is giving the client what they're asking for, and that might take a minute or two! Best of luck.

Hi, I've recently hired a VO artist here on voices.com, and while I was indeed surprised to see a couple of responses seconds after the posting was approved, the order of submissions had marginal significance for me. I disabled receiving them some three days later and then carefully went through all received demos, doing notes and shortlisting. I definitely wouldn't hire anyone just because they were first to respond.

They way talent are presented to client's currently is based on VoiceMatch score. The better you are matched to a job, the higher your audition response will be in their response list. In the past, responses were displayed soley in order submitted. If you happen to have a great match to the job and you are able to get your response in timely then you have a greater chance of appearing closer to the top of the responses list.
It is always best to follow the direction provided by the client and in the instance where a sample script is provided, a custom sample should be provided for audition purposes as many client's do just skip over the generic demos provided by talent who want to be first in line.
