Testimonial:
"I am an executive staff producer for O’Briens Agency in Farmington Hills, Michigan. We are a high-end corporate solutions provider serving a wide array of clientele since 1954, the lion’s share of which has been spent serving General Motors.
I was fortunate enough to receive one of Larry’s voiceover demos early in 2004. Since then, he has been my principal voice talent for long form training. Last summer, he was featured in three back-to-back projects: one for Chevrolet Corvette, another for Chevy SSR and yet another instructional DVD for Corvette that ran 87 minutes. Buy a new Corvette, reach into the glovebox and you can have one of your very own. This year, he updated the glovebox video and voiced the new Corvette Z06 Launch DVD.
Larry has a unique vocal quality that makes him very easy to listen to, especially for extended periods of time. He has the ability to carry many characteristics into a single delivery: authoritative, warm, casual, persuasive, friendly, never overpowering. His vocal delivery talents, impressive as they are, however, were not the key skill sets that blew me away.
I have a very hectic production schedule and one thing I don’t have time for is to sit in a voiceover recording session for hours at a time, then pull and assemble best takes in sequence. Larry’s services merely require me to e-mail a script, then call and have a five-minute phone conversation on what vibe we are going for. That’s it. Usually within a day, he e-mails me a single audio file that I simply drop into my editor’s timeline and it’s all there! This saves me an enormous amount of headaches and dollars. His interpretation and pacing is pretty much dead on. I don’t even know where he records, but the production value is right up there with the finest audio houses in our area. I cannot tell you what an enormous luxury this is. And if I need fixes or a last-minute change based on client input, Larry’s right on it.
In a nutshell, Larry’s professionalism, attitude and execution really set him apart. I’ve been in this business since 1981 and have only on very rare occasions come across anyone of his caliber."

My name is Larry O’Brien, and I’ve voiced projects for an international gallery of clientele doing podcasts, flash narration, station imaging, characterizations and on-hold messaging, as well as in-store voice and multimedia audio. I recently replaced Al Michaels as the play-by-play voice on the Madden NFL ’08 video game from EA Sports. I’ve even developed new voices and characters for specific projects and can do the same for yours. Just ask me for a custom demo.
I work from my broadcast-quality project studio and can deliver your file via most digital formats, often within a few hours, depending on the project. Here’s the bottom line: I like people and I love my work. And that makes every experience tremendous.
Check out my website at www.hotvoiceover.com. I hope you’ll call me when you need fresh voiceover talent for your next session. Thanks!
I need a voice like Orson Welles.
Only younger and less pretentious.
Kind of like Dick Cavett. Only stronger.
It should be authoritative.
But I don’t want to be conscious of a pitch.
I want it to be intrusive, but not irritating.
Kind of like Masterpiece Theater without the British accent.
Remember the voice on NFL Century?
Male, but no testosterone overload?
You know, like that.
.....Oh, you want O’Brien!
