Rob started his voice career as a boy, He was always talking into a tape recorder and finding it fascinating hearing himself back. Soon, he had built a small studio at home and would record and listen back to himself comparing him with the professionals on the radio. This ability for self-criticism has been useful in developing his skills. As a teenager,he joined a pirate radio station as a presenter, that provided a wonderful backbone of experience. He then became a little more legitimate and worked for both the BBC and Independent radio in the UK. For the past 27 years, he was a sound engineer for a top flight London studio specialising in commercials, corporate, broadcast and gaming material. He would direct voices on a daily basis and provide coaching sessions during the weekend. Naturally, this was a perfect opportunity to hone his own voice talents and he was involved in many tv and radio commercials and narratives from straight reads to character and cartoon reads. Rob's voice is highly flexible and malleable and this is especially useful for characters. From old to young, male to female, boy to man, Rob will attempt to reach into his voice box and drag something out for you. He combines this with a range of accents but respects his few limitations on this. Above all, Rob himself has a zany, off the wall sense of humour and this is reflected in the styles of voices he can come up with. He often will get right inside a character and see it and live it.
