Job #42592
For my second audiobook, I decided to engage three narrators rather than one because of the structure of the novel. One of my major characters is an intelligent young woman of twenty-four, rather naive with relatively little experience of the world. How to find just the right voice for such a person, a voice that was pleasant and able to portray the feelings of my Kara? I listened to sample after sample, many talented but sounding like women in their forties or like teenagers who were recording with their iPhones. Finally, there
she was, a young actress from New York. Would she be a primadonna and be difficult to work with, especially at a distance?
Martha Lee is unquestionably one of the warmest and easy to work with people I have encountered while working in this field. She qualified on all counts, more than able toproject my Kara as well as the voices of other people who were in her world. I strongly recommend her as a narrator for any novel in which sensitive women figure.
