A study of Egyptian monuments, either those still at various sites all over Egypt or those in their new locations in museums and collections, is a happy meeting ground of specialists and non specialists. No special knowledge is required in order to be impressed by the grandeur and technical accomplishment of the great, permitted Giza to be enchanted by paintings in the homicide, private tunes at medina, or be left dumbfounded by the opulence and rather erratic taste shown in the objects from the tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings and now in the museum. The less knowledge may add to our appreciation and enjoyment.
