You will be exposed to many terms and acronyms in your day to day job in Amazon through today's class, you will get to know some of the most commonly used terms and the ways to look up their meanings. Today's class is divided into four parts. Part one is about commonly used ecommerce terms. Part two is a brief introduction of Amazon glossary and part three is an introduction of Amazon global selling terms. Lastly, I will share with you some useful websites and resources to look up for these terms. Now let's look at part one ecommerce terms. You may have some understanding about the e commerce industry. So how many business models are there in the e-commerce industry in short e commerce stands for electronic commerce. What are the business models of e-commerce? They are the basic approaches companies follow to do business on the internet and earn revenue. In other words, they are technology based business practices and profit models in the internet setting. The commonly seen e-commerce. Business models include B two BB 2 CO2 OC two CC two B et cetera. Let's look at some typical models and examples that companies adopt. The first type B two B stands for business to business. Alibaba formerly 16 88 dot com and Amazon B two B. Amazon business are typical B two B enterprises. The second type is B two C. You might be most familiar with this type of business model. It's short for business to customer. Amazon and JD dot com are typical B two C companies. In this model, sellers upload products to a certain website and then consumers can directly make purchases on the website. In addition, sellers need to send the products to consumers. The third model is C two C customer to customer represented by ebay and Taobao. You may know that on Taobao, third party sellers open online stores and the buyers are all customers. So these transactions on Taobao are customers to customers C two C 020, which is also a familiar model is short for online to offline and is represented by a group buying model such as Matu and former Jianping. In this model store owners launch online promotions on their products or services on group buying platforms. When consumers see it, they will visit the offline stores.
