You may feel trapped inside your mind and body and feel you lack complete control over how you think and feel. The truth is you of all people can only control your thoughts. And once you learn to do that, you can't fix every problem in your life. Your emotions, thoughts, actions and decisions create your personality that creates your reality. This happens either at a conscious level or a subconscious level. Your conscious thoughts are all those that you are aware of and can control. For instance, if you are consciously thinking of having a burger, it is a conscious thought. Or if you consciously supply yourself with positive suggestions every time you feel sad, that again is a conscious effort. On the other hand, your subconscious thoughts are all those that come from your huge storage of memories in your unconscious mind, your mind functions at three levels. Unconscious, conscious and subconscious. Your conscious mind control is your conscious thought and actions. The unconscious mind stores all your memories, and subconscious mind communicates between the other two levels stores. You recently formed memories and picks different thoughts and memories from your unconscious level to create your internal program and belief system. If you're a pessimist and think of the worst case scenario of things, it is because of your negative belief system created by your subconscious mind. There are many thoughts roaming loosely at our unconscious and subconscious minds that we don't directly focus on but are picked by our subconscious. Mind you, maybe subconsciously worrying about your exam and Fred over the thought of failing in it. You may not realize it, but this thought gets picked up by your subconscious mind and before you realize that a series of unfortunate events happen, making you actually miss or fail that exam.
