Petra's eyes popped open wide. She couldn't see anything above her and freaked out for a moment. Had she gone blind? Her eyes darted up to the left. No, she wasn't blind instead of stars. She saw 0000 4302. She must have rolled under a table. She glanced to the right. A sea of white beneath her, not the hard floor she had expected. And then the aha moment struck Petra realized that for the first time in her life she was touching feeling the one thing that could fulfill her dreams. Paper, Petra jumped up and started dancing for joy. She couldn't believe it paper and she knew exactly what she was going to draw lying in that box for weeks on end, left alone for hours on end she had dreamed about she had wished for, she had agonized over. She had pinned for pizza with all the ooey gooey cheese with the choice of a gazillion toppings, black and white or colorful. It was all the same. She got to work. By the time she was done, that paper was covered in pizza, Hawaiian pizza, pepperoni, pizza, meat lover's pizza, barbecue chicken pizza, apple crumble dessert, pizza, brownie pizza, pizza, pizza, pizza. She sang and hummed as she drew pizza, like pizza, small pizza pizza. I love them. By the time she was done, Petra's tip was a flat little nub. She was exhausted but happy chaos in the classroom. She heard little giggles. She heard shrieking. She heard the teacher clapping 123 eyes on me. Time for cleanup more giggles. Feet, shuffling, scooping sounds, clashing sounds. Then Petra felt a hand around her in no time at all. She was back in the rainbow box feeling blissful and content.
