The Alchemist has sold over 65 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 80 languages. The book tells the story of a young shepherd boy named Santiago who embarks on a journey to fulfill his destiny. Act one. Santiago's journey begins. The book begins with Santiago, a shepherd boy from Andalusia Spain who dreams of traveling the world in search of treasure. Santiago is content with his life as a shepherd, but he cannot shake the feeling that there is something more out there for him. He meets a wise old king who teaches him about the importance of listening to his heart and following his dreams, he also meets a beautiful woman named Fatima who teaches him about the power of love and the importance of staying true to oneself. Act three, the treasure and the conclusion. Finally, Santiago reaches the Egyptian pyramids where he discovers that the treasure he was searching for was actually within him all along. He realizes that his journey was not about finding material wealth, but about discovering his own personal legend and fulfilling his destiny. Santiago returns to Andalusia where he is reunited with Fatima and lives the rest of his life in peace and contentment conclusion. The alchemist is a timeless masterpiece that has inspired millions of people around the world through Santiago's journey.
