Good evening my friends and welcome to the Church of Rock Today, I want to start my sermon by turning to the Book of Rock to page 2 69 chapter 66 The Downfall of Metal. It began with MTV. We metal heads were running wild for a long decade on MTV with TVs, Headbangers Ball and the Monsters of Concerts. Then in 1984, things began to change and not for the best. MTV cut us loose and started promoting the Seattle sound called grunge. Bands like Nirvana Alice in chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden's were being looked at by MTV. Soon more Seattle bands would take over our spots on the pop charts, leaving us in the cold. But the question still remains. Could this have been prevented? Yeah.
