The tribe has an extensive record of the oral histories of our world. The Great Sacramento region in northern California went from the eastern Bay area to the Sierra Nevada foothills and mountain range. We believe all things, people plants, animals, land and sky are connected, filled with meaning and have their own spirits. The first people made the world as it is today and the tribe continues to tell their oral histories, handing them down from generation to generation. Animals were ancestors to be honored through these oral histories, songs and ceremonies to maintain balance in the world spirit and ceremony were woven into daily life.
