I remember growing up in this small town. Summers were magical. Is a kid up early in the morning to meet my friends of the leg for a few hours of fishing and swimming, drawing plans to build a deck and rope swing over Burt's farm pond in the big cottonwoods that surrounded it. Lemonade stands in the day capture the flag at night. Our biggest concern was being late for dinner, and if we had enough money to buy more batteries for walkie talkies, we didn't have fences between our yards and we roamed free throughout the neighborhood. It's hard to find that nowadays, but for me and my Children, the magic still exists in Hurrican, a place where everyone waves and knows you by name, a community of friends and neighbors that work hard and play very well together.
