Hello and good day. My name is Joel bozzi and today I will be reading an excerpt from the illustrators note from the paperback version of Pinocchio and we begin going straight to the origins of the folk tale. I placed the setting of the book in Italy. The environment of Italy provided me with bright and sunny settings. There was a challenge in designing the puppet so that the wooden boy could be an appealing character to paint him so that people could relate to him. I made a puppet to pose and combined him with a real boy. This helped me give Pinocchio human dimensions. It is my pleasure to present to you the environment and characters as I see them in this collection of Pinocchio. I hope that you enjoy this book as much as I have illustrated it. That's the end.
