it has been called America's best idea not baseball or apple pie, but the establishment of the national park system. Although history usually gives the credit to President Theodore Roosevelt, the idea of preserving the natural wonders of this nation goes back much further than the 26th president. Back in 18 32 while traveling the Great Plains, the artist George Catlin saw the destruction that westward expansion was having on the region's wilderness. And so, he wrote, by some great policy of government, we should establish a nation's park containing man and beast in all the freshness of their nature's beauty. Few experiences offer the deep relaxation and pure exhilaration of camping in the wilderness. But before you embark on your outdoor adventure, there are a few things you'll need to know in order to stay safe and maximize your fund. The first step sounds simple, but is not to be underestimated. Find the right spot. If you or your members haven't been camping before, you may want to pick someplace close to a settlement in case someone gets antsy. Second step, make sure you bring the right people. It's best to have a least one person who's been camping before. Experience always comes in handy For many of our nation's military veterans, the only thing harder than going off to war is coming back home. They returned with scars both physical and psychological, that require the utmost care. And here at disabled American veterans, we've made it our mission to ensure that our returning heroes get that care so that they can start to lead productive and fulfilling lives. Here it home here, a General Electric. We've been very fortunate over the years with all of our corporate success, but we also believe that to whom much is given, much is expected in return. That's why we started the G Foundation, General Electric's philanthropic organization. Through the G Foundation. We provide grants and investing initiatives that work to solve some of the world's most difficult problems.
