congratulations. You have taken one of the bravest steps you will ever take. You were going to find your voice. There is nothing more important, profound and rewarding than finding the voice you were meant to communicate with. My philosophy is that vocal training should give you the tools so that you, as an artist, can make the choices you need to make in accomplishing your vision. In other words, if you can think it, you should be able to perform it. I feel that the teachers Onley agenda is to help the student find an embrace, your voice and style. The training will improve self esteem, give you confidence in the choices that you make and move you closer to the organic sound that was given to you. But what other mediums can the voice be applied? Teoh. Is it just for communication and performance? The answer is no. The voice not only allows us along with the listener, to feel better and to be entertained, but it has strong healing properties that can be utilized in a number of ways. The use of sound as a healing modality is nothing new. It is probably as old as the first sound ever made by a man or a woman. The first humans are believed to have used sounds in sacred and ritualistic ways to promote fertility to eight at birth. To facilitate the growing of crop to accept death and for many other occasions using sound, they would summon spirits and ancestors to cure sickness and rid the body of disease. This manual attempts to train the user, performer, voice artist and sound healer by combining materials so that if you choose to, you are able to utilize the information. Training is for anyone who wants it. It really is about the creative process, which, ah, highly overused phrase is really the bloodline of having a better life through my years of teaching and living. The life of an artist living creatively is its own reward. You don't have to do anything with it. You don't have to be famous. You don't even have to be good at it. All that is required is to live it while having a willingness to learn while enjoying yourself. You would think that this is a fairly easy task. Well, sort of, but not really. And there in lies, the challenge besides having a great voice that you can use expressively. It involves many other elements. You must know how to command attention on stage and or the microphone. How to develop what is on the inside and carry it through to the audience. How do you get respect from a band producer director on What do they expect from you? Do you know what a producer does? And if so, how do you find one that will understand who you are and help develop your talent? How do you save your voice using it repeatedly in teaching, I have never met anyone who did not have more potential than they knew and were using. Sometimes factors such a smoking cigarettes or anything else that may damage the vocal folds can limit range expansion. However, in the absence of these inhibitors, an increase of range and resonance can be achieved with knowledge, understanding and the right exercises.
