It wasn't even late 10 o'clock or something. There were people around masses of them. I went into a shop to get some cigarette papers. And when I came out, I saw this girl give Danny a punch in the chest and I said, hey, hey, and she turned round and her eyes were black, there was no color in them and I thought she's on something. And as I was thinking that she walked off did run, just strolled. They saw Danny as if all his bones and melted. I thought he was joking at first. But at the same time I knew he wasn't because there was something weird about the way he just sort of sort of folded. People walked past one guy stepped over him, but most people didn't even notice because it didn't look serious. I went home, I else down there was blood on his chest, a little round mark over his heart. It was nothing. But as I held them, it spread out like a big red chrysanthemum. And this guy came over and said, what happened? I'm a nurse. I said, I don't know. Is he gonna be alright? His face went from normal to the color of paper right in front of my eyes. He went from being alive to be in debt in that instant. He couldn't believe it. I'd never seen anyone dead before except for our dog. And it's not the same with an animal, but I knew he was dead. I knew it and I was holding his head in my hands and I was shouting ******* ****, somebody do something. And the guy who was down there gave him mouth to mouth, which he must have known was a waste of time. I think he did it for me to say, look, look, I'm doing something. I'm doing the best I can. And the ambulance arrived. I, I don't know who called us. Police all over the place. Sirens, blue lights, people ducking in and out of bars taking a quick glance as they walk past people who are still alive. I, Danny's been a moment ago. How could he go from one state to the other in the blink of an eye? I, I couldn't take it in life and death. So bind up against one another. So close is not a hair's breath between them. I thought this is not happening or not. How am I gonna tell mum if we hadn't gone into town that night? We hadn't, we hadn't gone to. So I hadn't gone into the shop for papers. You'd still be annoyed. Someone else would probably be dead. She was ******* nuts, the girl who did it. But I don't care about those other people because I don't know them and Danny was my brother and they absolutely everything is ****** forever.
