Maddox likes the yellow flowers and the blue trees, but she didn't come for the fountains and the winding pass. She came for the dragons. There were big dragons, small dragons, green dragons and brown dragons. There were birdlike dragons that fluttered about when a dragon lands on her hand. She kisses it. Maddox wades into the mere like pond in regards her five year old face, blonde hair, red lips, blue eyes, yep. It's her. The little pink dragon on her head burps a flash of flame which makes Maddox laugh. The adult dragon stairs with golden eyes and lowers its head. Maddox climbs onto the dragon's neck and the dragon leaps into the air. Powerful wings beat the air. Soon Maddox sales high over the garden. In the distance are the mountains, a rainbow and dragons flapping across the sky. This is her world, Maddox. The voice was faint, far away ahead. The horizon is beginning to break apart, losing hunks of color and light. Maddox, the clouds disappear. The rainbow fades. She holds tight onto the dragon, her face filled with fear. Her world was falling apart. Maddox. The dragon breaks into pieces. Maddox drops wrinkles and tries to grab onto something she misses and falls, She looks at the fast approaching ground and closes her eyes when she doesn't crash, she opens her eyes, the fire breathing dragon stares at her from a poster on her bedroom wall. Maddox looks around she's in her bedroom at home. Another dream. If I have to come up there and get you. Maddox Wilkins, you won't like it, Her mother yells, Maddox closes her eyes, but the dragon world has disappeared. Maddox gets ready for school and heads downstairs. A breakfast bar lands in front of her. That's what you get for. Sleeping late. Her mother says, you would think a 10 year old could get herself up. Maddox looks up Janice Wilkins. Maddox mother is ready for work. Spiffy and fresh nurse's scrubs the busses in two minutes. Her mother says, Maddox rolls her eyes and grabs a breakfast bar. Maddox struggles down the bus aisle, finding her seat. Haiti you to Tameka says it's not fair. Maddox answers. Of course it's not fair. We go to school and school's not fair. We go to dance and dance isn't fair, we play soccer and soccer isn't fair.
