Imagine being so ahead of your time that a simple recording session turned into a hit record where 20 seconds of that nine minute hit record helped pioneer hip hop history. Listen, I'm sure your ears will recognize this drum pattern. The funky drummer James Brown was referring to was Clyde Stubblefield. Also known as the world's most sampled drummer. Mr Brown had a unique and recognizable voice for sure his real talent, his ear for music, he knew when to let his band shine. He knew when it was his turn, he knew when you needed to hear a guitar or a saxophone. He knew when he needed to cry, went to Holler, he just knew what sounded good. We are looking to tell the many unknown short stories about the legend that is James Brown, how did he meet his third wife? How about his brief stint dating Aretha Franklin in the 60s or that he was offered millions of dollars by an African president to publicly become Muslim. We want to tell you more stories like this, but through the experience of James Brown's son, Daryl Brown, the blood of the man himself.
