The only thing that Elliot and grandma jo can bond over is their shared adoration for the classic film star Marion Cavendish, whose movies they begin to tune into. Nightly. One day, Elliot spots an opportunity that could call his summertime sadness and make the dog days spent in Mount laurel. All worthwhile a film festival happening in new york city that Marion cavendish will be attending. The only problem is that Elliot can't board a greyhound bus to the city without an adult passenger accompanying him. So he reluctantly invites grandma joe to join him. But when their bus breaks down, Elliot and joe must take matters into their own hands by embarking on an unexpectedly elaborate 88 a half mile trek by foot, car, subway and speedboat, encountering a number of roadblocks on their mad dash to make it to the Lincoln Center in time for the movie screening, and Cavendish is red carpet appearance.
