Your personality unlocked chapter one, introduction to your personality dimensions. What does it mean to unlock your personality? It's all about understanding who you are. Why do you do things a certain way? Why do some things come so naturally for some yet for others, they can be a struggle. Why do we get along well with some people but not others. It all comes down to our personalities, identifying our personalities in four different ways or dimensions dates back to ancient times with a lot of stops along the way, knowing who you are, who you really are and having a clear understanding of others and how they, how they tick is something we can all benefit from. As you read through the chapters in this book, you will start to have a much better understanding of who you are and the differences between you and other people. Once you get where they're coming from and what is going on in their minds, you will find that you are seeing them in a different way, a way that will help you build and strengthen the way you interact with the people in your life. Understanding your personality dimensions creates an experience that challenges you to know yourself better and to view people differently. So let's begin this journey of understanding by exploring who you are. Where do you get your energy? Knowing your dimensions is the first step on the path to living your life to its fullest. The next step is understanding where you get your energy from and how you can recharge. It also known as introversion and extroversion. Being introverted or extroverted doesn't speak to how shy or outgoing you are. It's all about where your energy comes from. Extroverts get their energy from the outside world. They recharge their batteries by being around people and interacting with them and they direct their energy outwards in the form of action. They are the, they are the conversation starters and the socializers introverts. On the other hand, tend to get their energies from within, they need time alone to recharge their batteries and direct their energy inwards in the form of reflection. They are the listeners and observers keep in mind that you are completely introverted or completely extroverted. In fact, Carl Young, the first person to write about this once said there is no such thing as a pure introvert or extrovert, introversion and extroversion is a scale with two ends and you will find yourself somewhere between the two of them. Introversion is not measured in levels of shyness because someone is an introvert doesn't mean that they are shy. Introverts can be very warm and outgoing people and great at interacting with others. At the same time, not all extroverts are outgoing and sociable. They too can be shy when meeting others for the first time to show how introverts and extroverts act differently. Consider how each one prepares for a presentation, preparing for a presentation means you need to spend time gathering and organizing information on your own. For an extrovert. This stage can be exhausting after a day alone. An extrovert may need to find someone to speak with or get their energy back for the introvert. However, this part of the process is, is energizing. It gives them the time they need to think and reflect without interruptions from others, which is how they work best. Authentic blues and organized goals are very concerned about creating developing and maintaining different kinds of relationships, authentic blues because it is your core need to connect with others and organize goals because you like to nurture a sense of belonging.
