if you can't solve your own discipline problems or if you're being physically hurt, asked for help, a teacher counselor or crisis line is a good place to start. You don't have to figure this out on your own. The word discipline is very old and comes from a word that means to teach discipline has a lot to do with learning to accept consequences of the choices you make and the actions you take to become a better person and gain the skills you need to be successful in life. Like at home, the consequences of not doing your chores might not be getting screen time or the consequences of talking back might be getting grounded. Discipline at home has to be safe. If discipline leaves bruises, breaks bones or leaves marks on your body, then it's not discipline. It's abuse and against the law. It is important to tell someone you trust that someone is hurting you so that they can help you. Discipline also has to do with following rules and expectations. When we follow the rules, we have privileges and opportunities when we don't, we face consequences at school. This might look like being sent out of class for talking loudly when the teacher is teaching out in the world, it might look like getting a big fine and a ticket for driving too fast
