Unforgettable. Written by Anna Marie Varner, Read by Alex King. The fluorescent lights hum is the wheels on broken down wheelchair sweep down the hallway. A young man makes his way down the cold hall. His feet drag him forward as his eyes scan. Inside of the empty rooms, small stuffed animals were placed on the beds. Inside each resident's room, the smell of loss panic in an eerie calm wraps itself below the man's nose. Him Christmas lights line the ceilings, and a dingy white Christmas tree sits at the end of the hallway. Dust falls off the limbs as the young man runs his hands along the bristles of the tree, he turns to see an older man in a rocking chair. His eyes were closed as he rocked slowly to the light music playing overhead. The young man looks beyond the older man as his eyes come to focus on a door Room 47 he makes his way to the door, letting his hands right through the decade of tree and winces as a sharp pen attaching one of the ornaments to a tree limb pricks, his finger training blood out as he makes his way to Room 47 he wipes the drop of blood on his pant leg. Once he reaches the door, he wraps his hand around the door knob. Coldness sends a message of loneliness and lack of interaction. Through his body, he turns the knob and enters the room. Slowly. A no older woman sits facing the window chair, slightly reclined. All the young man can see is the outline of her hair, which is thinning in spares. The woman is still. She makes no sound. Her only movements, their fingers circling a button on the edge of the recliner. Round and round, her fingers trace. The young man closes the door slowly behind him, careful not to startle her. The door latches with a small clique. The sound of the woman slippers sift along the floor as she pulls her feet closer to her, noting she has a visitor. The young man grabs a chair next to a desk in the corner of the room and carries it to the place at her side. He does not face her. He simply looks on out the window with her. The woman turns her head to greet her guests. Do you know me? I do, a young man replied. Well, then what's my name? Mary Jane
