please direct your full attention to the monitor as we begin the safety demonstration on the dawning and doffing of personal protective equipment. All health personnel are provided. An isolation gown or hazmat face, mask or respirator. Face shield or goggles, shoe covers, bonnet and two pairs of gloves. To begin, perform hand hygiene by using alcohol based sanitizer or by washing your hands with soap and water for at least 22nd. Put on isolation gown or hazmat to secure. Zip up halfway, tie all ties or snap all snaps. Put on first layer of clean gloves. Next, place your respirator or mask over your mouth and nose. Extend the face piece under your chin for masks with ear loops. Gently stretch both straps over your ears and hook them behind your ears securely. For masks with straps, pull the strap over your head, placing it on the crown. Then pull the bottom strap over your head, placing it over your neck. Perform user seal check. Use hands to cover the surface of the mask or respirator and gently exhale, checking that the face piece bulges slightly, keeping the hands over the respirator. Take in a quick, deep breath checking that the face piece collapses. If air escapes through the edges, readjust the fit and re perform the seal. Check. Put on face shield or goggles. Pull the straps over the head, placing it on the crown to tighten. Pull or readjust straps. Pull bonnet overhead. If there are ties, pull strings to tighten at the base of the neck. If your gown has a hood, lift the hood over your head and adjust for fit. If the gown is zippered fully zip it up. At this point, Put on shoe covers. Perform hand hygiene again by using either an alcohol based sanitizer or by washing your hands with soap and water. Put on your second layer of clean gloves. Pull gloves so that they cover the wrist of your gown tape. Shut any open areas in preparation for entering the hospital premises. Please ensure that all possible exposed body surfaces are fully covered or securely sealed. Perform these steps with a trained observer or partner. For the doffing procedure. Perform hand hygiene after every step. Remove shoe covers. Discard them into the proper waste container. Remove isolation gown to doff. Unzip the suit. Untie all ties or unsnapped all snap, Pull or roll the gown down and away from the body, taking care not to touch the contaminated surface with exposed skin. Discard the used gown in the proper waste container. Remove the top layer of gloves, using the glove in glove. Method. To remove contaminated gloves. Grasp the outside surface of one glove at the wrist and peel the glove away from the body, pulling inside out. Do not touch bare skin. Hold the discarded glove with the still gloved hand. Discard them into the proper waste container. Remove bonnet from head, pulling away from the body. Remove goggles or face shield. Gently pull straps outwards to loosen. Remove upwards and away from the face. Do not touch the outer surface. Remove the respirator or face mask to loosen. Untie the ties or gently pull straps outward and away from the face.
