"The Voice Data work has been well rewarded both professionally and financially."

Ángel Sánchez: Voice Over Actor Unlocks New Income Stream with Voice Data Projects
Voice over artist Ángel Sánchez is no stranger to the mic, but recently, he discovered a fresh and fascinating side of the industry: Voice data recording.
Having jumped into four projects so far — three through Voices and one elsewhere — Ángel describes the experience as “very positive,” with one standout moment being a two-hour live session that he calls “very rewarding.”
What sparked his interest in this new type of work?
“Honestly, it was curiosity,” Ángel admits. “I just wanted to see what this was all about.” He first heard about voice data recording through Voices and decided to dive in headfirst.
Was it easier or harder than traditional voice over gigs? Ángel doesn’t sugarcoat it:
“For me, it was as difficult or even more difficult than any other voice over work.” But that challenge came with plenty of support. “The whole process was great. Dylan Brown, Nicole Prtenjaca, and Melissa Tucker were in touch the whole time, answering my questions and making sure I was ready. They were incredibly helpful.”
Preparation involved a live prep session with Nicole to iron out the details, followed by a live recording session over Microsoft Teams, where Ángel recorded a variety of scripts under Nicole’s watchful eye. “The setup was smooth, and everything was well-organized,” he says.
When asked if he had any special advantages as a voice artist, Ángel is refreshingly humble: “I don’t think I really have any advantages, other than trying to do it with enthusiasm and love.” He believes this kind of work is accessible to anyone willing to bring their passion and dedication.
On the financial side, voice data work has been a welcome bonus. “I think the work has been well rewarded both professionally and financially,” Ángel shares. He encourages fellow voice actors to consider this path, highlighting three big perks: “experience, practice, exposure and, of course, financial compensation.”
One of the coolest surprises? “The diversity of scripts and narration styles. You have to switch up your intention, inflections, everything. It really keeps you on your toes and makes the work fun.”
With AI stirring some anxiety among creatives, Ángel appreciates Voices’ transparency and safeguards. “They’re upfront about what each project is for and make sure your voice can’t be used for anything else. That kind of security is reassuring.”
Would Ángel jump back into voice data work? Absolutely. “Yes, I would do it again because my experience has been very positive so far.”
Ángel Sánchez’s story shows how voice data recording isn’t just a side gig. It’s an exciting opportunity for voice actors to grow, learn, and earn, all while being supported by a platform that values clear communication and respect for talent.
