Phil Thron

Caldwell, New Jersey, US

A warm, resonant, expressive voice that can range from smooth and sexy to an authoritative announcer. I worked as an actor for many years so I take direction well and can deliver what you're looking for.

I'm currently narrating and producing two 3-book series of audiobooks for Audible.

I've also done many VO projects in the pharmaceutical industry and am adept at handling the demands of clinical language.

My career began as an actor working on the stage for 20+ years. During my early days in theater, I was invited to do some commercials at a local radio station. I enjoyed the experience and continued to work at it "on the side", while trodding the boards at night.

Years later, when I met my wife's voice teacher, she sat me down and insisted that I should immediately start looking for work in the voiceover industry. I consider this the moment when my real career in voiceovers began. I spent time honing my skills and booked my first commercial gig shortly thereafter.

I have spent much of the last decade in front of the microphone, doing everything from commercials, web sites, and industrials, to narration for awards shows. Most recently, I've been narrating and producing audiobooks and have 5 new books in the queue to create in the coming year.

In recent years I've also carved a niche in the pharmaceutical industry, doing everything from pharma commercials to sales rep demos, to interactive projects targeting healthcare professionals.

Studied voice with Lainie Cooke. Studied acting with many teachers, including Robert Lewis and Susan Slavin.

Service Description

I have a 6' x 6' sound booth which was custom-built to my specifications in order to create the best sound production while providing comfort. This ensures that any length work session can produce consistently professional sound for your project.

Having been on both sides of the microphone, camera, and stage, I take direction extremely well. I can give you the take you're looking for. In my booth or in your studio I can deliver quickly, often on the first take, and can shave off that .5 seconds to fit your project's needs.

I have worked as an actor for many years; narrative is literally what I live for, and I can create characters that your audience will remember.

I have also worked for years as a writer, both on the commercial end and in the pharmaceutical advertising industry, and am able to assist with any adjustments or creation of copy that might be needed on your project.
