Zehra Jane Naqvi
Looking for a voice actor with that Transatlantic or 'neutral' English accent?
As an Australian actress of British/Indian origin living in the UK for the past 15 years and married to an American, my natural speaking voice is "Neutral English" but VERY flexible. This means I can slip into Aussie Twang, 'New Delhi' Indian and British RP accents with ease.
Trained in Musical Theatre at the National Theatre, Melbourne, Australia, I am an experienced voice artist, actress and singer.
From lead roles musicals such as "Bombay Dreams" on the West End to feature films in Bollywood, India, I have worked extensively in straight theatre, film, television and radio for the last 15 years.
Over the course of my voice-over career, I have voiced commercials, corporate projects, audio-books, charity campaigns, video games, cartoons, mobile apps, singing projects, performed lead roles in two Dr Who radio plays and numerous e-learning projects.
Because of my extensive background in singing and acting, I am also a fast sight reader and take direction extremely well.
Whatever your audio project, I can deliver your track in a variety of styles, characters and accents ranging from Transatlantic, native Australian( soft and broad), neutral and RP English accents to Indian(soft and broad)
My voice type ranges from clear, melodious, animated, natural, confident and upbeat to serious, informative and sincere. My playing age ranges from teen, young adult to middle aged.
I also have a fully equipped home studio based in London and can deliver a track in under 24 hrs, if required.
Please do add me to your 'favourites' for future reference if you like what you hear and I look forward to collaborating with you on your next audio project!

"Heron Fleet is on the verge of publication and as a result I've only just turned to hearing the final form of the podcast voiced by Zehra. It was excellent and made the book sound so good I wondered if I'd actually written it all. Zehra's improvisation of the song and the tone she used in the incantation bit were inspired."Paul Beatty - Author of Published book, Heron Fleet
I have worked with Zehra on a number of audio projects over the past few years. I have always found her to be extremely professional, well prepared and very personable. She takes direction well, and is adept at quickly getting into character and giving a wholly believable performance.Ian Skillicorn - Producer of www.thestoryplayer.com
The stories we have recorded have required a variety of accents, characters and styles. Whatever the piece, Zehra's characterisations are always authentic.
Zehra is a versatile, collaborative actor, who is a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend her for your audio project.
Zehra has worked with me on a number of occasions, in musicals and straight theatre. She has a terrific range and has played roles ranging from Indian children to American mothers, from contemporary Australian to RP. Her vocal versatility makes her completely convincing across age, ethnicity, class and period. Her extremely professional attitude and intelligent approach to the text means that she makes and sustains strong, clear choices.Lucy Skilbeck - West End Director
Zehra is an exceptional singer, actress and performer.Charles Miller - British Composer
She has recorded demos for me in the past singing the leading role in "Mr Christmas" and "The Return Of The Soldier".
She has performed in a review of my songs called "Build Me Bridge" at the Bridewell Theatre and Battersea Barge.
I highly recommend Zehra in any capacity that involves the arts.
Zehra's narration for Nightingale was profoundly moving. She managed to capture not just the voices but the essence of the major characters throughout the book. I was incredibly nervous to listen to this work narrated by the voice of another as these characters had lived in my head for many years by this time. I was afraid that I would listen to someone else's interpretation of my words and feel that they had missed what I was trying to convey in the story. Zehra brought my story to life in every way. I could not recommend her narrative skills high enough. Thank you for bringing Nightingale to life.Andrea Bramhall - Author of published novel "Nightingale"
