Von's eyelids popped open as he fell headfirst toward the neck breaking floor beneath him. He thrust his arms out and caught himself landing in a handstand on the cafe chair. His legs fell into a perfect split the customers along with Max and Lucy all stared in shock from that handstand. Von did a vertical push-up and flipped himself effortlessly into the chair. He was now sitting as if he had landed perfectly just as Max had planned. Vaugh stared forward, still stunned from the whole ordeal. Max ran up to him. I'm so sorry, Von. You were lying down the other way. When I saw you up there, Vonn didn't answer for a few moments. His eyes darted around the room until they finally looked down at Max. A smile spread across his face and his eyes relaxed to their usual half lidded position. You are the most creative inventor ever. Von said with a chuckle, just like you taught me to be said, Max lunging in to give Von a big hug. Von's muscles tensed as Max invaded his space, but he soon melted into the warm embrace. Now you listen to me, Von told the boy overcome with emotion. You keep on inventing dreaming and believing in yourself. But don't you ever end up like me? Be like your mother, honest, hardworking kind. Von said this not knowing that Lucy was right behind him as she delivered his plate of steaming breakfast. He smiled up at her sheepishly.
