beautiful, a simple word that can barely begin to describe the trip we've had so far. Things week has been an eye opening experience for salmon I. As some of you may know, if you were in last week's block post, Sam and I made a trip up to North Carolina starting on Wednesday. We woke up Wednesday morning at four in the morning, had a coffee or two and then made our way back to the airport. The check in process when is smooth, as it could have for two people carrying lots of camera equipment Way were a bit surprised when we didn't get stopped at security with all of it. Either way, our flight was at 6 45 and the plane was boarding at 6 15. We got to our terminal right at 5 50 so we had a bit of time to relax before boarding. Did you know they were boarding planes from the back instead of the front now? Anyways, we were all the way in the back, so we were the first aboard. It was perfect. We got on the plane and of course, I passed out immediately due to exhaustion. It's a short two hour flight before we got to Atlanta for our layover from Atlanta, we had a one hour flight to North Carolina. Once we landed, our trip truly began. We picked up our rental car and started our drive to where my mom lives. I don't want to give too much information away on that, so I'll keep the details private. The drive wasn't too long, but it was absolutely gorgeous. The warmth of fall was present on all the trees as they shimmered with beautiful shades of orange and red. As we traveled west to the flat land turned to hills and the hills turned the mountains. Driving along the edges of the mountains, beholden to the ever changing colorful landscape, was breathtaking. We didn't stop for pictures right away because we took our time taking it all in. We were eager to meet up with my mama's well, so that took priority. We got to my mom's house and I smiled. Ear to ear is she came over to hug me? She cried. It was extremely touching. I really missed her. I'm definitely a mama's boy. The first day was just travel, relaxing and catching up with my mom. We went to play bingo with my mom's friends that night so she could introduce me to everyone. She wanted me to know that she was in good hands, since I've always been so protective of her. I was glad to meet everyone. They were all extremely nice and funny people. We played bingo for a few hours that night, and surprisingly, I want a game. I made my money back, plus some from there. We went back to my mom's place to rest for the night. We slept in a bit on Thursday before making plans for the day. We hardly planned ahead. Apart from some minor details that morning, we decided we were gonna go to the casino. Why might you ask? Well, because we can't That's quite honestly the only reason we set aside a tiny bit of money to spend and promised to spend no more than that. We took a very long drive up past Asheville and towards the Indian reservation there. When we got to the casino, we ended up playing a lot of eight ball poker on the machines before losing all the money we came in with, as you might have guessed you are hardly ever walking away from the casino with more money than you came in with. But we figured that would happen once we got done. We started heading back home, stopped at a resort for dinner. We took some beautiful pictures while we were there all the way home. We took amazing photos from the sides of the mountains as well. Sam wrote in the trunk of the car for a while, taking some of them. It was pretty funny. All in all that's been our trip so far. We have four more days left here. If you include today. So a lot more is still to come. I hope you stick with us. See you next Friday.
