zebras are social animals that spend time in herds. They graze together primarily on grass, and even groom one another, living in small family groups. Sometimes they combine with others to form a herd. Thousands headstrong with many eyes alert to danger. They must be constantly wary of predators. If a lion leopard, cheetah or hyena is stalking them, they could be in for quite a challenge. Even with a herd of several 100 to thousands, clever lions will find a way to strike potential prey. They are experts at detecting the vulnerable zebras, such as the injured, ill or weak, even among a dazzle of stripes, hunting as a pride. Their goal is to isolate these individuals, then charge and knock them down. The Zebra will hope its size, speed and deadly kick can keep it safe in an attack in at a maximum speed of 68 km/h.
